I think your in the right ballpark. Price seems pretty good. TBS bikes command a bit more the standard bike, mileage is low, new tires, battery and such, good deal to me buy it and don't look back!!!

I took your advice and got it, the bike is so clean its hard to find any flaws in it,except a missing passenger peg and a burnt out turn signal light in the intruments. He went out and bought a new battery for it and started it up for me, I couldent test ride it(**** snow) but I did shift in to first and made sure it would go...lol, clutch seems strong, he told me about the sticking clutch wich I read on here is normal. He replaced the throttle cable last year because it broke on him during a ride

I still havent driven it home because it wont stop snowing here but he was fine with me leaving it in his garage.
I cant wait til spring

BTW were are these coils located and how much are they? How would I know if they went bad?

Thanks

They are under the tank on the right (non kickstand) side of the bike. Two screws hold the tank on, two screws for each coil and the 3 wires that plug into them. It takes longer to get the tank off than to change out the coils. They run about $70 a piece x3 of them. If they happen to say nology, they've already been replaced. If they were going bad the bike would misfire, typically at higher rpms , or it wouldn't fire at all if they went completely bad. The bike will run on two cylinders, but it isn't pretty.

Enjoy your new ride and welcome to the club!

Congrats you will never regret. Let us know how many bugs you picked out of your teeth on your first ride.

Congrats!

So far, the only big problem I have noticed is the almost total lack of used parts on Ebay.

This either means:
(A) They are rare.
(B) Nobody every parts them out.
(C) Nobody ever crashes one.. and if they do, they fix it.

I've got a big dent in my gas tank, but I've yet to see one of those for sale.
I need one of the holy-chrome (batman) covers for the airbox.. can't find one.

I suppose the dealer might have such items... at a price.

I do need to figure out where the leak is coming from.
I put a new bolt in the alternator, but it's rattling again

That is not true. My red 99 TBS in 2001 by some asshole left turning dimwit. I wanted to fix the bike but the insurance company "stole" it from me.
The best was when they called ME up wondering where I'd taken the bike.
"Well the last time I saw it it was at the towing company's yard!"

I replaced it with my Creamsicle 2000 TBS. I still my drop dead sexy red TBS witht eh pipes up the one side.

Well she came home with me tonight, and it rode like a dream, I LOVE THIS BIKE, it was a balmy 25 degrees out there but that dident stop me, I had it up to 40 mph before my fingure tips felt like there were going to fall off.

I cant wait til spring.

I take it that that's 25 degrees F, not C
