Tail chop

http://kuvablogi.com/nayta/iso/img811326.jpg

Love this look. I am purchasing a 2001 Adventurer and want to get rid of unsightly (to me) tail. Want to get rid of fender completely and add a Thruxton like single seat and painted cowl. Any advice on how to accomplish this and where to buy tail light, blinkers license bracket etc.
Thanks
Phil

Chopper ;-)

Try to buy to original equippment for the TBS. It will fit without any modification. You will have less sorrow and the result will be perfect. Good luck for that, because I think it is sold out!

Actually, I don't think the seat from a Thunderbird Sport will fit the Adventurer... they have different rear sub-frames.

There isn't much after-market for these bikes... some people have adapted the TB sport 'solo' seat for the Thunderbird, other then that you'll have to find or fab something to fit. Ditto for lights, blinkers, etc. Mecatwin in France (www.mecatwin.com) makes an undertail for the Thunderbird Sport but again, don't think it will fit and Adventurer w/o serious modifications.

Do some searching around this forum, be sure the check out the 'modified classics' sticky up a the top - that will give you an idea of what people have done and how they've done it.

Interesting picture

That is in fact an original rear subframe for the Adventurer and that is a TBS Solo seat. How they managed to put the two together is what I would like to know. Are there any more pictures?

Lots of pictures of this bike on
"Let's see your triple classics" thread, page 18.
I would be willing to take on modding it to an Adventurer if I can find a seat and cowl. Just about anything is possible if you've got time, imagination...and a little cash.

Other Motorcycle: Can't afford two!
Extra Motorcycle: Three would be insane
I'd prefer to see those seat buffers sitting on the frame - but otherwise, nice install!

Your the bomb (american expression)...thanks for the great pics. Shows when there's a will, there's a way. Found company in USA that sells seat and cowl. Now all I need is the bike...this weekend...2001 Adventurer.
Anyone need a 2006 Ducati 800 S2R, of course with a tail chop? Keeping the Buell 2000 S3T and keeping it stock. Triumph will be mod/project bike.
