Question Road Pilot or Storms - same price quandary

Tire Express has the same price on the Michelin Road Pilot (original) and Avon Storms as specked out for my Legend. Both are seemingly well liked by this board, but does one stand out above the other at the same price? My riding style is conservative as I am near sixty and no longer "push it".

For normal road riding either will be excellent. I have Pilot Roads on my Tiger and have just fitted Pilot Road CTs to my Speed Triple. I have Avon Azaros on my Tbird and they are excellent. a friend has Storms on his 1050ST. We both ride quite hard on occasions and the tyres have never been an issue. They are all good in the wet, which we have lots of in the UK. As you have a British bike I would go with the Storms.

I vote for Avon Storms. I put a set on my Daytona last fall and I like them very much in the dry and in the wet. They are supposed to wear well too.

Given your stated riding style, I think you'll be happy with either one. I have the Avons and really like them, especially in the rain. I've never tried the Michelin's, but others here and on other internet lists have praised them.

Thanks - question resolved

I will be going with Avon Storms. The internet price for a pair for my Legend was @250 delivered. A local motorcycle repair and parts shop has offered to match the price, and installation will be cheaper than going to the Triumph dealer, which is 100 miles away. With labor charges of $65/hr. it still won't be cheap, but I'll have the "new" bike ready for the season when the snow clears.
