Looking into new pipes

I want to get some new pipes for my 2000 Legend. Currently have the stock silencers but want something a bit louder. Maybe more than a bit. Any recommendations? I've seen the Emgo/Dunstalls, but they seem cheap. Just need some help from you experienced Rats.

I have the British Customs Predator Exhaust and love them.

Does Triumph still have the "Off Road Pipes" to fit a 2000 Legend? It's winter, so I wont go to my Triumph store until I can ride. Can I buy these new?

Hey knapp,

I bought a pair of Emgo shorties from JC Whitney. Just under 50 bucks a side....look good and if you like to be heard, they'll fit that bill. How they will hold up I can't answer. Like em tons better than the stock peashooters.

Adventurer cones

I drilled out my two stock mufflers from my 97 adventurer and they were a lot louder then stock. Basically I didn't hear the sewing machine sound of the cam any more.

And for a time...I was happy...............

Then I wanted to scare the $hit out of small children and little old ladies so I went to 70's shortys that are basically riding open and although my hearing is now going at the age of 34 I'm happy with them.

If you your interested in buying my bored out stock cones PM me with an offer.

sure..

You will want to search, there's been many different threads on it but here's the jist:

Get a drill bit extention rod at least half the langth of your muffler.

Depending on your muffler outlet hole you want a drill bit as large as you can get into the whole of your muffler. I think mine was a 1" hollow hole bit (kinda like the kind you would make a door knob hole with but smaller.

I had to use "an assistant" to hold the muffler in place. You could use a vise but don't jack up your muffler.

Get your drill and go to work. You will hit a couple different "walls" in the muffler and drill through them. I went all the way down until I could see light at the end of the tunnel. Make sure you get out any bits that fall into the muffler.

Note that some people required "jetting" because the mixture became more lean as a result of riding with no exaust pressure. I did not notice a significate loss of performance at all, however my header pipe bluing got worse.

There's a sticky with Jetting set up. If your not willing to risk your only set of Mufflers you should buy mine and keep yours as a back up

That's why I have had mine for so long, but now I know I'm not going back.

Good luck.
