Helmet to match bike color?

Does anyone have matching helmet color for a 99 Legend in red?
I thought it might make a nice statement if I could find one.
By the way, does there seem to be a preference for open or full face styles?
Just getting back after 17 year absence, so I need all the stuff.
Thanks,
Jim

You could always have your helmet of choice painted to match your bike.

As for style of helmet, full-face for me.

Or you can paint the bike to match your helmet!

orange helmet

Shoei makes the TZR in "pure orange", very close to the orange on a 2003 TBS.

It's probably easiest to pick out the helmet you like and have it painted. I don't know about you, but finding a helmet that fits really varies by brand, and a bad pressure point will make a great ride go bad. Painting will give you an exact match as well. I know here in NC, make sure you leave the dot sticker on it, they're starting to crack down.

Well, being color blind, I didn't realize that the color of the bike I bought last November matched the helmet I already had from work! When I got the bike home, my good wife pointed it out--almost an exact match. So, I guess you could say I bought a bike to match my helmet. My bike is a '95 Thunderbird in a nice maroon. Like you, I am returning to riding from too long away--about 25 years. The helmet is full face and, after watching some crashes on youtube, I don't think I'd have an open face. And, I just recently found out what ATGATT means (all the gear all the time). Didn't used to ride that way, but do now. Cheers. S.

(Man, I hates zero degree winter weather.)

Open or full

I don't often ride with a helmet (I know...I know...) but if your going to where one, it might as well be a full face. That's my thought.

Then again, if I had an open face I liked maybe I would where it more. I guess it comes down to WHY you want to where it. If its cause of your ol' lady or johnny law then go open face. If its for protection go full face and always, always where the strap. no stap no helment.

I have an "icon" full face helmet that I like. The design's are cool enough to make a statement on their own. Full face works better in the rain for road trips as well.

Also remember not to buy used and there is a "shelf life". Once a helmet is dropped from 3 - 4 feet it has lost its use and should be replaced.

good luck

Tre

I always buy white helmets and then add tape/decals for customization.

My basic custom addition is a couple of strips of retro-reflective red tape that crosses in the back to make a big red 'X'.

Not as pretty as most of the stuff on the market but highly visible at the extreme range of compact car headlights

Give yourself as much of an edge as possible.
