No Spark

I'm not getting any spark at the plugs. It's a 96 adventurer. The motor turns over. I don't see any loose wires but there is a white plug with a bunch of wires not connected to anything by the battery. I don't have a clue about the newer electronics, on bikes or cars. HELP!!!!

These bikes use a wire harness that probably fits a few other makes/mfgs.
I'm pretty sure the white box with no connector your talking about is on my bike as well.
A friend of mine with a Bonneville America says he has 3 such connectors that go to nothing. So no worries there.
As for having no spark, some more details are needed. Did you just buy the bike?
Was it running normally before?
Does everything else work ie: Horn,Headlight, turn signals?
Stay calm, be methodical and post what you find and we'll get you through this.

Also need to know if you pulled a plug and visually checked the spark as you wound the motor over?

i believe he's refering to the connector for the factory optional alarm .

first thing i'd do is put it in neutral , kickstand up and clutch in then try and report back .

hth

I got it!!! I pulled in the clutch and it fired up. Thanks for the help. I'm going to wire around the clutch and kickstand switches.

if you pulled in the clutch and it worked , it's probably the kickstand switch . they both serve an important purpose . get it fixed , don't leave it jumped .

annnnd you should always pull in the clutch when starting .
