I am planning on putting the shorties on my 95 TBIRD. Did you happen to rejet or make any airbox changes? I am going to K/N's and up the mains.....

I've made no changes to the airbox, filter or jetting at the moment. The motor seems to be running well, with no hick-ups or hesitation.

Hi Rob,

Did you order directly from EMGO. If not, where? Thanks

Patrol - You can get them here in the States from J.C. Whitney for around $50 each.

Hi Greg,

Just ordered a set from JC Whitney. Will be modding my airbox and have a K/N ordered also. Thinking of going with 120's for my mains but leaving the pilots alone from the info I have seen on the threads. TB's are choked from the facotry so opening up the fuel/air should help performance some and I am running with a bunch of guys with Harleys/staight pipes and a good bud of mine from my early triumph days who is modding his speed master. Goodbye Jetson-mobile.

Neat, Let me know how it works out as I am really close to doing the same thing with my '96 Adventurer! Do you have Mikuni's (I do)? I am trying to find out if that jet size applies to my machine. The only thing I have done is removed the large canister from the secondary air box, and removed the intake muffler. Believe it or not, just this seemed to make the bike run noticibly lean.
I was considering buying a jet kit, but am wondering if I can get by with just a set of mains, and maybe shimming the needles if necessary.

Hi Greg,

Pulled the mains this weekend. Yes, I also have the stock Mikuni's also.... I have 92.5 mains. I also drilled out the back side of the primary airbox. I went with a matching 1 1/2 inch hole on the opposing side and the same for the gap between the 2. I am also flushing the entire secondary airbox and will be fabricating a bracket to hold the seat lock. The only issue I can see doing this is chain spray as removing the airbox will leave a gap under the seat. I will fab a bracket to cover this also. This, plus the K/N filter will give me a ton more airflow. The EMGO's should let the bike breath a bit easier also. Moving to a 120 main should be a good launch point from previous threads. It'll be a couple of months though before I know how this turns out as I live in upstate NY and winter is long.......stay tuned.

Thanks, Patrol! 120's seem to be a very large jump from 92.5's, though. I live in central Mass, so I know what you mean about maybe not getting to try it out for a while! We have 2 feet of snow on the ground and even my spiked DRZ can not go anywhere!
I would like to perform almost the exact same mods as you have in mind, except that I do not want to lose the nice looking chrome covers that attach to the secondary air box, so I intend to leave it in place.
