Adventurer subframe/fender chop finished!

After seeing so many fender eliminations of TBSs and T-birds on this board, I really wanted to try something similar with my Adventurer. Because of the different subframe on my bike, I resigned to designing it from scratch. Hopefully this will help other Adventurer owners who might be pondering the same thing.

I started with a photoshop edit of what I was hoping to achieve:

I got a 9" wide unfinished steel fender and cut it down to size and tapered the flair in the back. I then fabricated a support bracket for the original lower fender attachment holes and also fabricated a support system that bolts into the upper fender hole attachement point behind the front seat latch. I didn't care how pretty it was, as it would be hidden by the seat.

To finish, I bent a steel bracket that mounted underneath the fender to attach the rear mini turnsignals as well as a bracket to mount the mini cat eye tailight/license plate:

Here is the finished product. You can find more construction photos in my album. Hope that gives some ideas to other Adventurer owners wanting to change things up.

Looks Great!!!

Looks Great bkline!

I always thought the rear subframe of the Adventurer looked like it would be good for modding into a solo saddle bobber. I hadn't considered the flexibility for the cafe option. That's the best looking cafe seat I've seen without going to the TBS solo seat IMO. I never cared for the original softail knockoff rear fender.

Thanks!
I originally thought about chopping the stock fender, but I'm glad I built it from scratch. So I can always put back on the stock fender if I need to (although not ever planning to sell this baby).

It actually says Devon Honda. Sticker from the original dealership which is since defunct. Need to Goo Gone that off one of these days.

I *love* it, but my wife, who often rides on the back, would hate it.
BTW- Aren't those Clubman bars on upside down?

I took my wife on a cold, long ride when we were dating. Problem solved. No more passenger.
They are Laverda Jota clubmans which are adjustable. You can mount them either way. With my levers, the reservoirs bump the elbow of the bars. I can still angle them pretty low with their adjustability.

The screen I have on now is just the generic emgo/LP/bellacorse cafe fairing, except I took the dremel to it and chopped it down.
