Temp gage

Is there a clean, easy way to add a water temp gage to a `99 Adventurer?

I have also been looking at some kind of analog gauges. The problem is size. I saw a nice Bonniville oil temp gauge kit that was very tempting and could be made to work but water temp and oil pressure are hard to find. The automotive small gauges are still big for a bike I think. You can use them though you just need to spec a sending unit to fit the bike. I'm not sure that the stock sender will give correct input to a gauge. Even if the sender is not the right size you could likely adapt with fittings. I'm still looking, there are so many choices that I will eventually find just the right look. Good luck and post if you find something.

I also am looking for an analog water temperature gauge with a light as opposed to a digital one because these bikes are Classic triples. The sending unit is a resistive device like a thermister with resistance changing with water temperature. We just have to determine the characteristics of the sender at 4 or 5 temperatures and source a gauge with a scale that corresponds (which is easier said than done :-).

That's a nice looking mod, ya done good. How is the reading at temp? does it seem correct? Did you use the original sending unit? Just wish there was gauges smaller then the 2" auto type.
