Honda?

Last night I was looking at my airbox ('96 Adventurer) and I wanted to try to remove the secondary air box. First, I was dissappointed to find that it is used for strucural mounting for the nice black side cover, and then I started thinking about how it would make a nice tool box.....
I removed the secondary air box and took it apart. Inside was a large cannister that had a couple of small tubes sticking out of it. The cannister said "purge / HONDA >68<.
A Honda part?
The cannister did not appear to be hooked up to anything. I removed it, along with the inlet muffler.
There were some acorns visible in the forward air box (!) so I stopped short of carb removal, and stuck a vacuum nozzle in there to suck everything out. I think something alive got sucked up as I heard a couple of bumps and thuds in the hose.

the Honda canister probably got sucked in to your airbox as you overtook a Honda.

Or maybe it's a charcoal canister from a CA spec.bike

I seem to recall one time someone reported finding a part with Kawasaki stamped on it.

Other Motorcycle: Can't afford two!
Extra Motorcycle: Three would be insane
It may be made by Honda but not necessarily for a honda.

Triumph use all the same parts suppliers as the Japanese and italian brands.
