Does the LEATHER conditioner specifically say that it is appropriate for rubber products? Aren't there any rubber/vinyl products- like that milky stuff (brain f*rt- I forget what it's called)

Armoral??
Don't use Armorall on anything, unless you want to use it forever. It's like "Heroin for Vinyl" Once you use it you must keep using it. It ruined a dash on my car years ago and since I won't touich the stuff.
As for keeping you rubbers fresh, well I'll leave that for someone with more experience to answer.

Rubber Cement

In an unseen area like that, if the cracks aren't too serious, I'd be tempted just to paint on some rubber cement. The same kind we've been using on tube repairs for decades. That should be a proven and durable substance that would fill the cracks and preserve the remaining rubber. Ya recon?

I think the car dash polish is silicon, also the back to black works a treat.

Other Motorcycle: I can have two?
Welp, I had the same issue with the cracks, etc. They lasted 6 years without any treatment, and at approx. $30 for the three replacements, it's not worth the effort IMHO. Although in a pinch, I like the rubber cement idea...should've tried this, would have been able to ride a few more days.

Silicone is good stuff .

I used to use it on the weatherstripping on my car doors when I lived in VA. Kept the doors from freezing shut in winter months. Silicone lock fluid saves on burned fingers from heating keys with lighters .

It's also quite useful for cosmetic reasons .

cracks in the rubber will allow tiny dirt particles into the carbs,as happened on my Tbird.Replaceements are not expensive (although fitting them is time consuming). I would recommend fitting new ones.
