Hello guys.

Thought I'd introduce myself, I'm Si. I've got a 99 TBS, had it for two years and kept it stock until last month, now it's going through a few mods, such as solo seat conversion new tail lights and some engine work to make the 'ol crate' run a bit quicker!

Cheers,

Si.

Nice, I am new to the site too but have owned my TBS since 2000. I started modifying it about five years ago, but didn't get serious about till this year. I see you did the pod mods and that great. This year I just did the pod mod, added clip ons, Raaske Minizooms & Rear Sets. I still need to finish the jetting this week. I really love the new look and only regret is I wish I did it sooner. The old girl finally has the look and sound Ive been wanting for sometime. The only other change I have been considering is relocating the battery under the cowl and remove the side covers. I am still on the fence about that one though cause I am not sold on the look. Anyway, here are some pics of my bike that hopefully give you some ideas.

Hi Neil, I installed them for both appearance and feel. They are little further back and up from the stock tbs Rearsets and they feel good to me. It took me a little time to figure out how they install but there area few pictures of them on line and was able to figure it out easy enough. Once figured out, the installation itself was pretty simple as everything aligned and it's basically a bolt an go. The biggest change is the reverse in the shift pattern from road gearing to race gearing (1 up & 5 down). It's takes a little to get use to.

Cheers guys.
The flamingos are ace!
Thanks for the responses.
Love the colour combo, I'm tempted with fitting clip ons to mine however I'm pretty tall so have to see if my back will put up with it!

Just need the British weather to sort it's life out so I can ride the bike and dial it all in!

Cheers,
Si.

Chief and TBSRider,

Both bikes are looking great! I love the yellow (as mine is) but the white and orange is really really nice.

I hate to be a thread thief, but I will share mine (we are all TBS brothers, right?)

I have a few small things left like figure out the tag mount and touch up the headers and engine cover from some PO boo-boos. I think I have finally elected to stick with the stock airbox, but still debating on removing the airbox extension behind the side covers and removing the covers + relocating a lithium batt under the cowl. Moving the fuse box seems to be a hassle and I don't HATE the side covers, I just think the clean look is really nice too.

You could always get some black (or repaint your own) side covers so that they don't stand out as much.

Whilst mine is a later model black and yellow I bought it with yellow covers, front mudguard, fly screen and single seat but there was too much yellow.

Changed the side covers for black and I like the look as the front mudguard balances with the single seat.

I've also got a black front mudguard, fly screen and single seat for when I fancy a change!

On my '04 the only yellow is the accent on the tank.

What bars are on your bike? Did you need to change any cables to use them?

Thanks,

Cracking looking bikes! I've got loads of hopes and ideas for mine, but with every hobby I need three things, 1; money, 2; time and 3; permission off the long haired general.

Next up for mine will be to take the yokes and forks off and polish them up, standard job on a TBS from what I've seen!

Top Tip.

Don't tell the Mrs, if you do

Asking about buying a bike.............Bollocking
Telling her how much bike is...........Bollocking
Bike arrives home.........................Bollocking

Just arrive home with the bike, just one bollocking, this saves you 2 bollockings, you know it makes sense.

If you are going to buy more thane bike just buy bike covers in the same colour, you will be surprised how well it works. I got to seven bikes before she rumbled me!
