0-60 Times

I just tried out the '0-60 Time' option on my Dakota Digital speedo and was wondering if 3.5 seconds is meaningful.

Does that sound anywhere near realistic?

IIRC, the quoted 0-60 time for a stock TBS was 3.2 sec, so you are probably in the park.

Thanks!

I'm guessing that was with a pro rider doing a drag start that I'm way too chicken to do.

I did a little looking up and found that the Rocket III 0-60 time is 3.66 seconds with a pro on board...

...and that the 2006 Chevrolet Corvette ZO6 has a 3.5 sec. 0-60 time with a 500 hp 7-liter engine.

I guess I'll be happy with 3.5

Jim

Mine will run the 1/8 mile in mid to low 8 seconds with a trap speed over 140kmph.
Of course I've not been racing in about 5 years.

Interesting... thanks for the info.

This speedo also has a 1/4 mile timer built into it but I'm rather hesitant to try it given the magnitude of speeding tickets and the potential for loss of license here.

Perhaps I'll come across a nice, straight back road someday...

You could do much better if you modded the air box.

Let's see your 1/8 mile times with a modded airbox, then.

I own both a Rocket III and a TBS. I find it impossible to believe the classic triple has a better 0-60 time or even one in the same ballpark. My Rocket hasn't been stock in years so maybe the Tuneboy edits and PCIII have made the difference but I doubt it. The Rocket has always felt light years quicker in a straight line.

I have no way to be certain except for the reading on the Dakota Digital speedo. It's entirely possible that the function might be off a bit ... but pretty cool if it's not!

Perhaps it was accidentally 'the perfect launch' that drag racers dream of -- maximum thrust at the impending skid point.

I'll get out the GPS and check the cal on the speedo. Gimmie a week or so.
