What exactly did I buy? 1999 T-Bird??

Love my new 1999 T-Bird, but can't find it listed anywhere as a valid match of model and year. The Triumph Thunderbird stops at 1998 and then the Sport started in 1999, but no mention of a straight-up Thunderbird 900 that year. My VIN pulled up as a Thunderbird, but the guy I bought it from said his insurance agent pulled same VIN up as a T-Bird Sport (which I definitely don't have). Anyone know anything on this??
Thanks.

Other Motorcycle: I wish!
It may be that it is a '98 model that was first sold/registered in '99.

If it only has a single disc front brake, then it is definitely not a TBS.

My recollection is that the T-Bird was produced continuously from 1995 through 2002. The TBS started in 1998 and was discontinued after 2000 (the year of the creamsickle). They made an encore of the TBS starting in 2003-2005, when it was the last of the T3 line. Telltail differences between the TBS and the TBird were dual front disks, and a powder coated engine casing, adjustable suspensions, and a cross-over pipe on the exhaust (earlier 'Birds used Mikuni carbs, had 5 gears, blah, blah). Shouldn't be too hard to tell.

I once bought a new 2002 Chevrolet Cavalier LS (not a sport model). It kept coming up as a Z24 at the insurance agency (the sportiest model). They didn't even make a Z24 that year. What happend was that when the car was built, they used a leftover 2.4 liter Z24 engine and the VIN# reflected it. I was fine with it, as it was an extra 10hp.

You got a blacked out engine in your Tbird?
or as a bad thought, was it a wrecked sport that was rebuilt with Tbird forks?

My 2000 Adventurer comes up sometimes as a 1999 Canadian model.

I figure it's just a minor discrepancy between manufacture date and model year -- like one fed agency goes by manufacture and another by shipping date or something.

Hasn't been a problem with insurance or registration, so I don't worry about it.

I have a green and champagne colored 99 T-Bird. What I've heard is that it was meant to be a 2000 model but it arrived in the states too early to be sold as a 2000 so some were branded as a 1999. I think I read that there are only 50 or so 99 birds in the states.

Of course, I could be wrong about all of this. But, my registration says 1999.

There was no 99 TBird model in the US Triumph catalog
even though some were imported and sold.

i am curious is yours a 5 or 6 speed transmission?
