What the???

Coming home tonight, accelerated along the road, went to change up to the next gear, selected but felt odd.Next gear,oh oh nothing touching my foot.Looking down the rubber and the screw part are missing. That would explain the odd sensation last gear change.Anyway pulled up walked down the road,no sight of the offending part.Obviously it bounced, well I was doing sixty at the time.So now stuck with very tricky gear lever, then I remembered a very short bolt in my jacket pocket,8mm just the job, arkward to change gear but better than nothing at all.
So quess who will now add a new item to his weekly checks, making sure my 8x45mm bolt and rubber tube don't fall off again.

Huh?

I have never heard of that happening before. have you had the bike serviced recently? Or did you try out some modification and then return to stock?

Smile Me too

I had a pair of mini mole grips (vise grips) with me at the time.....
I now carry a magnet for finding stuff - iron, steel, nickel, alloys of same & the odd bit of cobalt of course.
At a fine BSA parts emporium which I won't name I was advised to invest in a GPS to thwack when a part left the bike and go back with a metal detector!
So far nothing has fallen off my trident except me - had trouble finding that too!
