Mirror socket size?

I'm at work and looking over some parts online for possible camera mounts out of the sockets where the mirrors would go on a ClassicTriple ( I assume they are all the same), since I have bar ends and these are open for use.

Anyone know off hand what size bolt would fit them ?

Thanks!

mirror mounting stem thread diameter

They are 10mm if you are talking about mirrors on a Triumph Thunderbird, Legend, Adventurer, Speed Triple, Bonneville, Thruxton, Scrambler, Bonneville America, or Speedmaster.

Just to complicate things further... 10mm screws come in three different pitches, fine (1.00), med (1.25), and coarse (1.50).

The mirror sockets are 1.25.

Get the wrong pitch and it's as bad as getting the wrong size screw.

I used the top off a cheapie tripod from Walmart on top of a windshield mount from a broken windshield to mount my little digital on the handlebars.

There's a picture in my photo album (below) under Miscellaneous Mods.

You could do much the same with a mirror stem and the tripod top would give you swing and tilt that a fixed mount won't.

Are you sure about that?

I thought only Yamaha used a left hand thread (on the right hand side).

I just swapped out my mirrors and both of mine are right hand thread.

Yamaha does use left hand thread on one side.
