Head light mounting
Has anyone had this happen: Riding into work today I noticed the head light flickering off the road signs.
When it got light out I found that the rubber grommets that support the outer tubes of the headlight mount to the fork tubes has turned to mush that will get all over your hands and now there is little of it left.

Regardless, when I pull the forks I have a small lathe in the garage, I'll make a set from nylon or polyethylene.

Jimbo,
If you feel inclined to make some extras, I would be interested in those.

I will be happy to make up some extras.
I will be happy to send them off to anyone interested since once I have the material in the machine making duplicates is all "downhill".
It may be a week or two before I start and I will holler out once they're made.
No charge, first come first served.

I would also love a set of those.
I think you should reconsider
charging for them, because I think others would be interested also.
At least let me pay for shipping.

I would like a set also. I would prefer to pay shipping plus a little for your time and material. Thanks. funhunter63@yahoo.com

I'm sitting here feeling a little smug. I shouldn't feel this way but I read about members not being able to get parts or their dealer not having a clue what they are talking about. My dealer in Pensacola Fla. has been in the Triumph business for the last 25 years and can run parts to ground on just about anything my bike needs. I bought those washers from him last year and they were about $4 apiece but they were and are available. Many obscure parts for our bikes are available if you go to the right place. Just a thought.

It's not about availability it's about what they're made of.
The oem stuff seems to be made of asphalt and I'm planning to use a different material.
