Having a ball with my new 98 TBS. What a glorious ride.
Call it irrational, but I hate having a tube-tired (tyred for you who prefer centre to center) bike with no centerstand. What am I to do if I get a flat? Lay it on it's side and iron off the tires?
I mean, I like retro, but not that much.
Are there any 2015 solutions out there for this bike? I pretty much figure the original Triumph accessory is Unobtanium at this point.
I have one on mine and wouldn't mind getting rid of it...It doesn't go with the cafe racer minimalist idea. LMK if you are interested, it may entice me to take it off

Sprint makes them. I haven't heard how good they are, but I'm sure a search around here will give you that answer. I'll try to paste a link here (never done that before).
Here's the problem: where I live, in Northern California, we have some serious distances to travel and some really crappy roads to do it on. Since the weather is favorable and I love riding, I tend to use the bike(s) a great deal--and have had a fair share of flats, but always on tubeless t(i)res.
So I just want to at least prepare for rain...first step, centre stand. Second, trailer for mounting equipment, Third, Visa and my Progressive Roadside Assistance card.
I've asked my dealer to check if the centre stand for the TB and TBS are the same. Does anyone know if they are. I'm still waiting on an answer but I guess he knows less than the gurus here
This won't be reassuring or helpful, but I bought an Adventurer centrestand from someone here, which is in theory the same as the Tbird (Sprints offers the same stand for both), but the foot thing-o was so angled that it made contact with the header pipe. I had to take a mallet to it to do some fine adjusting. I couldn't say whether the stand had been bent in a spill, or if there is a subtle difference between stands for different models (perhaps to accommodate different exhaust systems, suspension etc.).
As I said, not very helpful or reassuring.
Also, though I can turn the rear wheel when the stand is deployed, on my bike the tyre is still just in contact with the ground (on a flat surface). I've had Dunlop and Metzeler tyres on - same contact.
Fair enough. You may want the Visa for the Centrestand - even the knock-offs aren't cheap! Sounds like number 5 on the list might be the road crew to go with the trailer! Are you working on some enthusiastic progeny to bring into the fold?
I'm a fan of the centrestand. Got one on my Tbird. Makes oiling the chain easier for a start. A kiwi here left his bike parked on its centrestand in the Christchurch earthquake, and a cop rolled it out to him from behind the cordon several days later unscathed. What better recommendation?
If you live on shaky ground maybe you should put pillows around it...
