Smile Thunderbird Speedometer error

I was riding with some of the HD boys this weekend and was trying to stay at about 75 but they all kept riding much faster and I found myself pushing 85 to stay with them. Had the wife drive the car next to my bike and found it to be running about 7-10 MPH slower than what was showing in the car
Are these bike known to show a little slower than actual?

Not sure about the MPH speedos, mine is in kilometres, and has been checked with a GPS twice, and it is pretty much on the money.

My TBird's speedo is about 8 miles per hour off at highway speeds. The Sprint is 10 MPH off. But, the Tiger is right on. All confirmed by my Garmin Zumo.

I have never heard of a speedo showing SLOWER than actual speed. My experience has been than there's a 5 - 10% error the other way.

In fact, the manufacturers (cars and bikes) always make sure that the speedo error goes this way, because if the speedo indicates a slower speed than is actual it would place a ton of liability on the manufacturer.

Your right I mis stated that. It shows 75 but is really 68
Going slower than it shows.

Can it be corrected is the next question?
