Sealed Battery?
So, one of the problems with T-birds are over-charging of the battery according to post in the T-bird problems. With my wife's recently acquired T-bird if shows evidence of this on the rear wheel.
My question is this: Has anyone tried a sealed battery? If so were there any problems with the battery overcharging/heating? We are planning a long trip in early October to Biker, Blues, & BBQ and I may change the battery out before this trip to avoid any possible problems since I don't know how old the battery is. I would look for a sealed battery first just for the lack of maintenance involved with them.
Thanks,
T-Mac

T-Mac,
I have never had a problem with the sealed battery that came with my '99 Legend. With the simularities between the Thunderbird and the Legend I do not think that you should hesitate to replace the battery. There is a lot less headaches. Just take care of it in the off season.

Thanks for the advice.
Shaun, We live in the Southwest part of the state and I will stay of the interstate. It is approximately 300 miles. Not the farthest motorcycle trip we have been on but far enough for her first ride on the T-bird. Next year it will be either Yellowstone or the Sturgis rally, probably Yellowstone since she has never seen it and we have been to Sturgis several times.

4 years on sealed battery. Never been recharged or disconnected in the winter.
OEM battery is rubbish.

sealed battery. ok. Model numbers please?
Every seems to say its ok to use a sealed battery but no one is putting the model numbers of good sealed batteries that can be used in HC3's. Ive got an 01 Adventurer and Im tired of replacing lead acid batteries. I also ride year round. I want good solid cranking amps. Can someone please post something more than the fact they use sealed batteries and they work great? Seriously, share the model number of the batteries that are good please!
Can someone help?
Thanks!

Take the battery to a place like Batteries Plus, and they can get a good alternative in sealed for you.... they have excellent software for this.
