TBS silencers

Hi I wanted to remove my TOR's and put a standard set of silencers on for the MOT but they have the dreaded uncaptive captive nut problem, well at least the one bolt I tried to undo did.
Question is, is there much boogery needed to get them off, I would imagine the head of the bolt will need to be ground off to get them off the bracket and then the uncaptive nut will be needed to be welded to the silencer?
Will the one remaining bolt which is firmly holding be adequate to support the top silencer?
It was a waste of time anyway as the bike passed with the TOR's anyway.
Thanks
