I hase the bypassing problem. I tried making a thin shim to place between the selector and the plastic or teflon ( Whatever) valve body to see if it will "tighten up" Will put it back on tomorrow. I've also been de-rusting the fuel tank.
Would appreciate info on the pingle though .
There is a product called EZ Turn Lubricant which is used for aircraft fuel valves. It will make it easier to turn (imagine!) and help seal the plug, too. In a pinch, bee's wax works, too.
Thanks for this thread.
I've developed a leak within the past several days. Like JRobyn, I've de-rusted the tank (with fuel tap removed), and noticed that the valve had gotten stiffer to tun, afterwards. This morning, I opened the garage to find a nice, large (about 6") stain of gas under my bike.
Will get an o-ring tomorrow.
