Getting close to that 24k mark.
So I have the desicion to make on whether to replace the airbox OEM, swap it with a TBS, or pods. But man those bellmouths look so great, has anyone fitted bellmouths to a 95 bird? How did they work out? Can you even find them for a bird?
Whats my best option? I live in upstate ny (200ft above sea level), we get our share of rain, I dont ride through most of if, but I certainly dont want to NOT be able to ride in the rain becuase of my choice of air filter.

Here's another option. Keep the airbox, but change the filter for a K&N. The TBS airbox is the same as the normal Tbird box.

Years ago I used to fit bellmouths to all my bikes.. I love the look and that induction roar, but they were a ***** to set up and they did nothing for filtering.

Said like Tommy Chong " You see that is where they get you. They sell the filter as an assembly, a non serviceable part. They pop ya for 40 something. But you see if your in the know , Or know a guy who's in the know you can get around the system, man. And once you do that ,man your free."
The air box should come apart with about eight t 27 torx bolts around the perimeter of the "assembly" be cautious the bolts can strip out easily. At this point you can toss in your K&N, or some people I've met wash out the foam filter oil it, and reassemble it.

If you choose to go with pod filters support your carbs check some of the other threads

Id rather not change to pods or anything that would require a multitude of changes.
Im trying to keep this bike stock as I am not intending on keeping it for a prolonged time.
I appreciate the info zs. Can anyone give me the k&n part #?

As you have the older bike you may want to consider the Trophy/Trident airbox change (search around her, I don't think there is any particular issue in installing it save the little chrome airbox covers may not fit). Also, change out your intake rubbers for the newer ones (you will have the carbs off anyhow). The older rubbers have an internal nipple that impedes airflow.

Enjoy!
