Howdy.

What are some good alternatives to increase the stopping power of my tbird.

I am planning on.
Changing fluid and bleeding the brakes.
Are there other pads that would help?
I have seen than braided steel brake lines help, and also look good. How much do they cost?
Other suggestions?

Maybe n a year or so I will upgrade to the 6 pot calipers on the Jack Lilley site. I know, I should just sell mine and buy a sport, but I like my bike and I dont mind wrenching on it. Besides I got a good deal.

Thanks

Oh yeah, while I've got your attention.
I am noticing a rattle on my bike. It seems to either be coming from the front end or under the gas tank. I only notice it when I go over bumps. It doesnt seem to have anything to do with throttle position or clutch action. IT sounds like the zippers on my jacket rattling around. That's what I thought it was at first, but I went out the other day without my jacket and still heard it. I went over my bike quickly and looked for anything loose and didnt notice anything right away. I will go over it in more detail when I get some time. Any ideas where I should start looking?

The front brake already has a braided steel line, it just got hidden by a plastic sleeve. I only found this out after I bought a new one.

"HH" grade pads will help.

As for the rattle, check the little chrome covers that fit over the muffler clamps. They can get pretty noisy.

Yeah, what do frilly mufflers sound like!! Muffled I suppose....

Watch out when bleeding the brakes, it can be a bit of a b*gger. There are quite a few hints and tips on this forum, use bleed and bleeding as keywords.

nope. got a lot more to do before that.

I have bought another seat that I am going to use the seat pan to make a custom cafe cowl.

I was thinking that I wouls make the cowl scoop in like the tank does at the knee pads.
This will be my winter project if it gets too cold to ride.

Wabbit,

I'm perhaps pointing out the obvious, but do your key have a metalring or something "rattly" attached?

I had an intermittant rattle from the front of my bike that I couldn't find.

Then I noticed it didn't happen when I had my feet on the highway pegs....

Things that make you go "Duuuuuh?"
