Just got in from picking up a '96 Thunderbird to go along with my Adventurer. I got a good deal and enjoyed a quick trip to Ohio to pick the bike up. I was very suprised at the differences between the two bikes. The different seat, bars and wheel sizes make the two bikes sit and ride completely different. I'm seriously thinking about doing a "Hooligan" job on the T-Bird. It's already got S3 carb boots installed and I've got a set of Toga Peashooters that I can put on but lately I've seen a couple of websites that offer S3 cams for the T-Bird. Their dyno chart shows 96 bhp with this set-up. Has anyone tried this cam swap and were the results worth the time and money?

Hmmm...that sounds interesting. I've got to find out about this as well. Congrats on the Tbird purchase, now lets figure out how to do that cam swap.

There is a website that sells hi-performance cams for the Hinckley classics I believe it's Wilcoxengines.com or Wilcoxengineering.com. Good luck with the mods

I have heard from other people they pretty much refuse to deal with people in the US. Dunno, maybe they got burned in teh past. They also might have changed their policy now.

Just food for thought.

Jack Lilley sells the kit as well. I think a T-bird with around 95 hp would be loads of fun! :-D

I see they also sell super 3 pistons. Would they add anything or is that just to handle the performance of the rest of the kit?

Not sure but I would imagine they would bump up the compression ratio.
