Sorry guys, bu tI've decided to be a little more active in moving non-classics related posts to more appropriate areas. This section stays pretty much on topic most of the time and I think its better that way (it keeps it as the best online t3 classics technical resource). If you have a general post or post about a bike other than a T3 classic, please consider putting it elsewhere.

I strongly disagree with this. I find it boring and limiting.

I consider the people in this part of Triumphrat my friends and I thought it would be cool to show them what my new bike looks like....and I still own a classic mind you...even though it's part Kwak :-D

H3ll..if someone here went and bought a skateboard with a porsche engine tied to it I'D LIKE TO KNOW....but just as long as they can pull a classic triple out of there pocket as well :-D
...it's not like we're going to start discussing whatever comes to mind here...

Anyhoooo...just need to get this off my chest.
Carry on.

:chug:

Best regards,
Petrolhead

But the point is you still can - that's why we have other forums - but lets keep this one generally On Topic

Exactly with Spooner on this.

I think there are far too many fora ( I think that is right?
:???: ) on here anyway. So much so it is difficult to keep tabs on what friends are up to, especially those like myself who are fortunate enough to own more than one bike.

This is without their posts having to be spread God Knows Where to stay 'on topic.'

Just my two pennorth!

I am open to input on this of course, but I also feel strongly. I got involved with this site because it stayed so on topic - times changed as the site grew in popularity, and we decided to open the BHO up a bit to draw the off topic stuff away from the other forums. That worked for a while but most are now "mini communities" with a pile of off topic posts in them. Some members dont even visit any other forum than their own tech section.

This one has stayed relatively on topic and as such ius a great searchable resource. Personally I'd like to keep it that way - it really is why I stay on as moderator - I feel like this forum is a real source of valuable technical info.

I moved only about 4 posts before I made this posting - off topic really is still a very minor percentage, but it is growing, and I'd like to nip it in the bud a little.

But.... Maybe I'm wrong, maybe you guys want this to be just another general board but with a t3 classics flavor, if that is true then that's fine by me and I'll hand over to somebody else when the off topic level reaches a point where I lose interest.

Nige: I dont think it should be too much to ask for you to use BHO for general stuff - you already go there regulalry anyway!

No, that is missing my point. Useful and informative posts can crop up all over the place & the majority of folk will miss them because they appear in a forum they don't frequent.

Like I said, too many fora, IMO

I cant disagree with you there. We discussed pruning out some of the general ones a while back in the moderators group, but couldnt achieve a consensus. Persoanlly I think the workshop forum is pretty much redundant and I'm not sure that the splits in the Tiger and Twins areas were a great idea, although I think they are generally liked.

Nige I agree with you that many interesting topics of general interest may pop up on a furum that one does not frequent,.
I have raised the question in the past as to 'why are there so many general discussion forums.' eg: Tiger Talk, Twin talk etc.

Which is why I have to agree with Mick that if the General Interest topics be confined to one forum, (BHO for instance) then everyone knows where they are.

After all isn't a General Interest topic just that, a topic of interest to the general populace?
Not purely of interest to riders of one particular model.
If it is model specific, then it belongs in the model specific forum

Lets keep the model specific forums just that...model specific, and keep general chat topics in one place for all to join in.

Yeah one place is a good idea....

That was why aeons ago I suggested a General Forum, which later became BHO

Just a metter of getting EVERYBODY to use it for general OT posting.

If not then it is up to the particular forum moderator to move the OT topic to the General Forum.
After a while OT posters will realise that is where their posts end up and they will post there in the future.
