Believe it or not I am changing a modified exahust system on my 2001 Legend back to standard. I find that on a long ride the constant howl from the exhaust is tiring and I have had enough of the exhaust constantly popping on deceleration and on going down hill. This exhaust was modified by a previous owner. What I now need to know is what size is the stock main jet for the legend with stock exhaust and also what are the correct spark plugs with a stock exhaust. I have a Haynes manual but it has very little information about the carb specifications and also the Haynes manual differs in spark plug specifications from a Triumph data sheet that I have seen. Can anyone help?

The stock main jet on the Keihin carbs is a #98 and the pilot is a #38.

Also, check the needles. If they're adjustable (grooves and an e-clip) they're not stock.

Ive got Keihin CVK's from a 2001 Tbird on my 97 Tbird (thank you eBay) the needle position on these is NOT adjustable.

The corroded Mikuni's I took off did have adjustable needles.

By the way I was quoted £900 (about $1350) for a bank of three carbs by a dealer apparently they are not sold separately. I paid £119 (about $180) on eBay - too say I was "chuffed to bits" is a bit of an understatement.

Careful - sure these are the same in Europe (and points beyond) as they are here in the States? Our bikes are severely tamped down here to meet US emissions regs...
