When I got my new 2002 Thunderbird it didn't come with a tool kit and the dealer said they never received one for it. Does this bike not come with a tool kit or is my dealer blowing smoke up my rear?

None came with my '99/00 T'bird. I think Triumph decided that on the T'birds with bolt-on seats, ('99 ->)that a toolkit was something they could save a few bucks on.

I thought the main thing which comes from their tool kit is the tool that enables us to remove spark plugs. What do you Tbird owners use without the tool kit?

My '97 had a toolkit. It came with a few metric wreches, a spark plug remover and some allen wrenches.

My 2002 didn't have a toolkit either. Not only does it save Triumph a few quid (pounds) but there isn't room for anything much under the bolt on seat anyway.

BTW I replaced those fiidle bolts with big thumbscrew ones from Jack Lilley-they are such an big improvement.

Safe riding

Pete

My 2K-TBS came with a tool kit, but then my seat is removable with the key lock.

The rubber strap that holds the tool kit has rotted so I throw it in my saddle bag now.
