Hi guys

I need to drain the airbox of oil and have searched on the forum already but I can't find a thread which tells me exactly where the airbox breather tube is? Under the bike I can see two large breather tubes (both without stoppers) so I assume neither of these is it. Can somebody please tell me where to find this tube as I really can't see it.

This must sound really stupid, but I'm still a bit of a novice to this lol!

All the Best
Jack

Jack,

The airbox breather or drain tube is one of the hose ends you can see. It is on the left hand side of the bike and down near the base of the rear suspension unit. It will feel soft and squishy along its length until you get to the base or near the end. At the end you will feel it harden up, this actually the plug. If you pinch just above the plug and keep doing it, the plug will work its way out of the hose. The plug is just a piece of plastic that slips up inside the hose, it is held there by friction.

What trident said, but it's on the right side on my bike.

I can find three hoses on my bike...

1. A thin-ish black one poking out next to the side panel on the left hand side.

2. A thick black one underneath the bike near the rear suspension

3. A slightly thiner clear hose just to the left of the thick black one.

Non of them appear to have bungs in so which one is it?

Cheers
Jack

The thickest one is the drain hose from the airbox. you should have the bung on not to stain your rear wheel with some oil. greetings.

It will likely be the thickest one but trace it up - it should attach to the bottom left of the airbox near the seam. The plug may be right up inside the tube - squeeze it and you will soon find it if its there. If your plug is missing then replace it with something suitable.

cheers guys!

I took the bike to my mates yard just now and using is oil sucker took enough oil out of the tank until the level was the correct. The oil now appears to have stopped leaking with just the odd drip coming out.

All the best
