I'm so tired of having to remove the carbs and the whole drill just to get to the air box (air filter). I'm thinking of cutting the back half of the air box in half so that it can be unbolted from the front half, and then each half removed from the sides. Has anyone done this? The only downside I can see is a minor air leak into the box, but it is pre-air filter. Comments?
Yes, it's pre-air filter, so that should be no problem. This was a topic not too long ago here. And I think it was this forum, look back, you might spot it. It pretty much stated what you said.
The airbox on my 2K-TBS is held together with several screws. One screw is located in the middle right behind the main frame. Very tough to get to but I managed to get it out.
When I reinstalled the box I left this one screw out.
Now I can remove the air box without removing the carbs.
