Hello. Just picked up a nice 96 TBird yesterday. Beautiful bike in outstanding condition, 21k miles, just needs a bit of mechanical TLC. Flushed the cooling system and changed the oil. Filled up and added Seafoam. Rode 50 miles. What a blast. I am sure I will be bugging you you guys for advice. Got plenty of questions about exhaust options, pods vs. K&N, etc. For now just want to get to all the fluids, plugs, etc.

You'll find that you won't be bugging anyone by asking for information. You're now a member of our club. Welcome.

hmmngway,
Welcome to the pack. I know you'll love your new ride.
tnsen,
Seafoam is a brand of carb/fuel line cleaner. It has a great reputation for cleaning fuel systems.

Yep, Seafoam is really good fuel additive for bikes that have been sitting around for a while. You can purchase it at many parts stores - I know Advance Auto Parts carries it, for instance. But, like all fuel additives, one should not overdo it - sometimes the solvents that do such a good job of removing gum and varnish deposits can start to attack the delicate rubber and plastic parts of your fuel system. Once you have your bike running properly, you should stop using them. If you have to store your bike, it's better to drain the fuel tank and carburetor bowls and thereby prevent deposits than it is to rely on added solvents to remove them. The first generation Hinckley triumphs are less forgiving of old gas than your car or truck.
