Hey guys,

Had my Legend warming up in the driveway for about 10 minutes when i noticed coolant pouring out of the over flow tube. I shut it down and checked the level in the reservoir tank when it was hot and then when it was cold. Both levels looked correct.

Did I leave it idling too long or could it be something else? It was only 45 degree air temperature and the temperature light or fan did not go on.

Any ideas would be welcome.

Thank you,

Mark

I had a similar problem last summer. Coolant level okay and no temperature extremes. It turned out to be a cracked plastic tee in the coolant tubing up under the gas tank. A couple dollars later all was good. Hope yours is as simple a fix.

John,

Thanks, I'll check that out. Did it leak out of the cracked tee only or did it discharge from the over flow tube too?

Thank you,

Mark

Last summer the thermostat that brings on the fan on my Tbird went out. I rode around without knowing the fan was not coming on (only notice the thing when it IS running). I overflowed coolant. Dealer said that they never had to replace one of these before. Make sure that your fan is operational.

It's not unknown - My TB (and I think Slinky reported the same thing) does the same thing when topped to the full level.

I haven't added any coolant since I changed it last June. I rode it all summer into the fall without any incidence. (except the initial air bubbles)

It still has me worried.

I had the same problem. It was at the dealers, and they were careless putting the tank back on, cracked the plastic elbow coming out of the overflow tank, so when coolant went between the radiator and the overflow, it would spit out the cracked elbow. I didn't see the crack until I followed the coolant trail and wiggled the tubing.
