I've been looking for new headers (since I don't have the stockers -- why not get better ones?). I have been thinking of the balanced stock headers. Bellacraine (sp) has tried the Tiger headers (Steamer) with some success. Not particularly easy to find. I have also been looking at Trident headers. Presumably the 900 Trophy headers are the same.

Any comments on fit? Any side pictures or details out there? I don't expect any of them to be a direct fit as far as mufflers go, but all commentary is welcome.

Thanks, Mojo

Your 03 already has balanced headers, albeit a slightly different design from the non-classic T3's but I doubt you would notice any difference in changing them.

His factory headers are gone daddy gone.

I don't know how long I'll tolerate the D&D's either Mojo. I haven't done much riding with them yet, but have a 2,000+ mile trip planned for May and I know that I'm going to fatigue faster from the constant blast of sound.

Which model year range of S3? Any particular fit issues with the side stand, etc? Certainly opens up the possibilities....

D&D's: I ride any distance with ear plugs. I find that the yellow ribbed rubber ones work best (I usually find the connected ones and just rip out the cord). Wished the Thunderbike's were a bit less though.

Am I missing something here, I think the Thunderbike system is amazingly good value at £380 for a full system when you consider a set of stock mufflers is £300. The Mecatwin mufflers are in the £500 region. My Thunderbike system is winging its way to me as I type :-D

I got mine off ebay, Mojo.

It is just a matter of how lucky you get.

There are slightly different pipes on different years. If you are buying off ebay there is usually a photo which should give you a clue.

I have the water pipe from a Trident to replace my standard one as there is about zero clearance on the pipe. It may need a little shortening on the end to bring the H section away from the centre stand.

My development is on hold pending a move but if you need any specific pics other than those in my album, give me a holler!

Thanks! Been watching for Steamer set since your posts. Saw some Trident pics recently and got to thinking that some of the T300 headers ought to fit.

Also going to post my pics and write up (eventually) in making the shock reasonably accessible to adjusting... will have to ask for a members gallery. :hammer:

I haven't tried this, I have Thunderbird TORs on mine, but for those D&D, Thunderbike, etc., users that may be just a tad TOO loud for them, I wonder if it would work or has anyone tried some straight-through inserts ahead of the muffler. Something to tone it down just a little, along the lines of:
