I have a 70 lb pooch. I want to bring him on rides with me. Who knows about putting a sidecar on the Legend?
I found a company in the UK, but they are EXPENSIVE. Most other sidecars are universal, but I'd need a special mount due to our bikes design. Does anyone have any advice?
Thanks,
Andrew

Bungee cord the pup on. I used to have a dalmation that liked to ride. Up front (on the tank bag). Worked ok until he got to a certain leg length. Did I forget to tell you that he would stand the whole time? Do you get the, er, picture?! He didn't like riding behind me.

Don't know if this is the company you were talking about, but it is a Watsonian and looks the s****ts. If I were going to add a sidecar I sure wouldn't want to do it on the cheap.

well I went into this with hope of helping. I did a google search and came up with a whole bunch of really ugly options, that cost more than some bikes, I might add.
My suggestion is to do as Wombat did and get a URAL Tourist for the runs with the dog.

The Triumph triples need a sub-frame installed to mount any sidecar.
You might want to contact Dauntless Motors and talk to Jay.
He can advise you on what you need to do and how much it will cost.
There is more to adding a sidecar to a bike than just bolting it on the side.
You have steering and brake issues that you need to look at also.
Then you need to learn to drive the rig. NOTHING at all like riding a bike solo.
If you want a sidecar that is rugged and classic looking and not to expensive, consider the Ural. If you want something a little sportier, you could consider the Champiom or the Kenna models.

Wombat's got a point.
For the cost of the sidecar, mountings, a proper front suspension and shipping charges you could probably buy a Ural outright.

I have looked into sidecar riding. I realize there wil be a great deal to learn how to drive it (I read you drive a sidecar rig, as opposed to ride a bike). I've seen universal sidecars that will mount any bike with atube frame. These companies also make subframes. I'm just looking to fine experiences as to what people have done. I can get a sidecar for about 3k. If it will mount for 1k, then it would make sense. Otherwise, a Ural or a bonnie would make sense.

Just a word of advise re Urals,
Stay clear of anything pre 2004.
I would guess that to fit a hack to your Legend, taking into consideration the cost of shipping, frame, steering and brake mods, you could be looking at around $6k plus the cost of whatever sidecar you choose, which could be another $4-5K.
A brand new Ural will set you back under $10k

Andrew,
DAGAD in England has a Trident with a chair on, give him a shout for advice. If you read down the linked thread below (on the Tiger forum about his new white Tiger) we get onto the subject of his sidecar:
