Well I have almost all the parts to do the custom stuff ot the Legend this winter. It will be getting lots of polishing,a 3-1 exhaust, twisted spokes, some graphix in the paint(it is black) a side mount license plate,LED strip tail light and triming the rear fender a little..Now my question is can i use a wider rear rim? Keep the same hub but go 2 inches wider on the rim its self? I figure since I am puttijng in new spokes, now is the time..Any one know???

Not sure of going 2" wider, but 1" wider is possible, and this Old-Post may help?

This site ( CWC ) may also help - I believe CWC may have been/are a supplier of the Thunderbird Sport wheel.

Ciao, Geoff

Your bike sounds like it will be VERY interesting. I can't wait to hear your updates as your winter project starts. Please take plenty of before and after pics!!! :-D

There is no reason why you shouldn't use a wider rim.

I guess the main limiting factor is what size tyre will fit in the swingarm? I expect you could get away with a 180 so maybe a 5" rim (1.5" wider than stock) would do it.

I have Speed Triple wheels on my TBS and am running a 180 tire.

By any chance do you have any photos of that? I just posted a question about putting one piece alloy rims on a TB and I'd like to see how it looks.

Max, my photo album has the pics; I think I'm on like page 7.
