I've got the Napoleons from newbonneville.com. $31.95 a pop, black or chrome. The mirrors do a better job than the stalk mount stock ones. They also ratchet around for storage, or I've seen some guys run them low underneath the handlebars. I have noticed that the black is less black than it once was, so I would consider the chrome if I did it again.

The mirror mounts extend maybe 2" inside the handlebars. With my stock TB handlebars there was a threaded plate just inside the ends of the bars, so something would have to be done about that if you are running the stock bars and they have the same insides. I had changed to aftermarket bars which were hollow so the mirrors were extremely easy to mount.

There are some other nice options, such as the CRG's, but they are quite a bit more money.

Some good info HERE.

If you were to trim the Napoleon mounting with a Dremel or similar and use a 5mm bolt into the existing bar plug, there are no mods to the bars if you wish to go back to standard.

I blew a stack of money on the CRG items - nearly $200 with shipping for a pair of them. Beautifully made and a joy to fit and adjust, and they fold back against the bars when you park up and no vibration at all.

I already had fitted flatter aftermarket bars so I didn't have the problem of the internal bar-end mounts on the stock bars.

+1 on the napoleons. I find them to be a great improvement and the ratcheting stalks are a nice touch. Instructions for installation without damaging the plugs in the stock bars here. You may want to put it back to stock someday.

I have been using Napoleon or similar bar-ends on my TBS since 1998. The "Similar" ones were the first, chrome, and the mounting device had metal spreaders that gripped the inside of my non-stock bars. Once tightened down, they wouldn't rotate inside the bars at all, which I thought was pretty good. But when I broke one off, (I don't remember how anymore) I couldn't get the spreaders out without rigging some sort of puller with an old deep-well socket. The Napoleons have a rubber insert that grips the inside of the bar, and I've decided that I like it better. As I use superbike bend bars mounted upside down, the modifications you have to do to make it work with the stock bars don't apply. But don't try to pull out the stock bar inserts - That's why I had to buy new bars in the first place!
