On Wednesday the 28th I'm driving my new T-Bird home from Atlanta. 20 all the way stopping in Jackson, MS that night, and Shreveport, LA on Thursday night.
I would welcome anyone that wants to jump on for a mile or two along the way. It would give me a chance to meet some of you and see your rides while increasing my visibility.

You'll be going past the Barber Museum at Birmingham. Unless you have already been you do NOT want to miss that - Shangri-la, Utopia, Erewhon, Mecca, and Heaven rolled up into one perfect two-wheel experience.

Cool The week before the ride is upon me and I'm working withoput my laptop so I have to hit the biz centers at Hampton Inns. My posts will be few and far between. But I will check it when I can . PM me and I will shoot you my cell for those who want to ride in for a while. I could always use the company on the road.

Rode my New T-Bird from Charlotte to Gaffney, SC today. About 60 Miles. It runs Saweet! I got three thumbs up from cars, and almost blown off the road by 18 wheelers.
Getting geared up for the ride!

Just hit 1000 on the trip through the Smokey's, Blue Ridge mountains. Other than overheating at every stop light the new bike ran great. Seems OK as long as there is airflow, but it gets hot quick when motion quits.
Pulled the thermostat and its doing better. Good enough to get home.
Plan to pull out of Atlanta about 9:30 heading back to Dallas. # is 214-497-4407.

What overheating symptoms are you experiencing? Fan, light or both?

The Light comes on while I'm at a stop light , then if it stays on the fan will come on.
When its getting hot the light will come on in conjunction with the blinkers.
I'm working on the ground issue now, the bulletin thats listed for the trophy doesn't help since this bike doesn't have that kind of harness.
1. The dealer told me that the ground is the brown lead, that is common on all indicator lights. I first spliced into the "brown" lead off of the hot light and attached it to the new ground. ---Blew the fuse
2. I then checked the brown lead with a test light and it was hot.
3. I then quick connected the brown and whit lead and attached it to the new ground. didn't blow the fuse but now the hot light stays on.
What am I doing wrong?
Should I cut the negative and re run it. Is the splice the problem?
Help?
Ted

I want to thank "Wagonboss" for leading me out of Atlanta to Anniston AL. The route he gave me back was longer but much more fun and it kept me off the slab.
My first RAT.Net meeting. cool
Bob is a great guy!
Thanks

Yeah, Ted, real tough duty, being forced under duress to go for a ride on a beautiful day! Ted's a great guy, too. Get him lost, he buys your lunch. LOL. Thanks again, man.
Hope you get your overheating indication fixed soon. Lots of knowledgeable guys on this forum. I’m still scratching my head about the chassis ground under the tank. I swear I sanded a grounding point to bare metal and reattached it under the tank or somewhere. Now I'm going to have to pull the tank and figure it out. Man, senility is a be-atch.
