Has anyone experience of or suggestions for full fairings, clip-ons, rear-sets and brakes for Thunderbird Sport? I'm thinking of souping up my 1998 TBS which now has 50k miles on the clock.

Thanks in advance..

I'm thinking curvey:

Eg 1.

Eg 2.

Raask, Mecatwin and LSL make rearsets. For the fairing, you're going to have to experiment by buying something from Airtech, for example, and fabbing the mount brackets. For clipons, any 43mm clips (older 600 sportbikes used them) will work. There are various threads on brakes, just poke around for them.

Does RAASK actually make rearsets, or just the brackets? I have a set, but the actually peg / shifter assemblies are Tarozzi I think... it's just the mounting brackets that are RAASK.

Not trying to be pedantic, just curious...

Speaking of RAASK / Tarozzi rearsets, I'm looking to get rid of them if anyone's interested... send me a PM.

HHmmm looking to cafe racer it by the sound then..

Interesting angle....

I haven't come across any specifically for that model.
I suppose most that want fairings buy the fully faired factory models these days.

You will be very much in a 'suck it & see' situation.
Brackets are almost certainly going to have to be fabricated.
An old fairing from an across the frame Jap 4 may be a good place to start looking. I would certainly try to buy second hand as you are probably going to have to indulge in Dremel work too.

I made a Le Mans 2 fairing fit my V11 Guzzi Scura like a factory model, so it can be done with time & patience.

Nige.

Edit: I just uploaded a pic of it if anyones interested. Most recent upload in my gallery ;0)

Surly the first place to start would be the older Triumphs like the Daytona, seeing as the TBS are modular design and have similar frames?

An old (Don) Vesco Rapid Transit (or was it Rabid?) ought to look good.

www.sprintmanufacturing.co.uk Make fairings for Triumphs, Its what they do! We on this forum tend to use them for spare parts and i for one did loose sight of that fact. If they can't help then nobody can.
