Well spring showed up in Upstate NY for at least a few hours.
I pried the barn doors open and uncovered the Legend. I have had the battery out and on a tender since November and put Sta-bil in the gas and ran it through last fall.
What steps do I need to take to bring it back to life this spring.
Here is what I am planning:
Syphon old gas out replace with fresh
Check electrolyte in battery and fully charge before installing
Check odor of oil for possible gasoline contamination ( change if evident)
Check tyre pressure
Brake cleaner on disks in case WD 40 oversprayed onto disk from chrome
Start her up!!!
ANy further suggestions?

It sounds like you have the bases covered. One additional thing that I always do is just give the drive chain a quick shot of lubricant.
I hope that the weather out there improves in a hurry. Here in Iowa it was 10 degrees F just a week and half ago. Yesterday, it was 70!! It's probably coming your way...hang in there.

Now that you mention it the chain does look kind of crusty, I would like to clean it and re-lube it.
What kind of cleaning solution is ok to use, can I use Kerosene?

I usually clean it with wd40 when cold, ride for a little and then hit the chain with lube when its hot from the ride.

I've come across so much conflicting opinions on WD-40 that I just buy an accepted motorcycle chain cleaner greaser. I'm not knowledgeable enough to argue the issue- but there seems to be enough knowledgeable people with opposing opinions that the few bucks extra is worth it for my piece of mind. I'm sure someone here can post a link to both sides!!

Was looking at your album, where did you get the mufflers? How do they sound compared to stock?

Luckyeddy,
The mufflers are Triumph thunderbird "off road". They can be ordered from Great Bay.
They are not realy loud at idle, (which I like) but come alive when getting into the throttle.

Let me shed some light on WD-40 for those who have not heard. WD-40 stands for water displacing formula #40, it is not a lubricant. Yes it has oil in it, but not the kind of oil you want protecting your investment. It will loosen up or even free something that has corroded, but once you have freed it you must lube it. WD-40 evaporates in a matter of a few days, even less if in a hot environment. It would probably make a great chain cleaner, but dry it and lube it after. If you leave just WD on the chain It will be dry by the end of the first ride. Say goodbye to your X or O rings.
