I'm going to a bike show this weekend, and I'm wanting my ride to look it's best (it'll be all american bikes there, and I'm going to be the oddball, so I want the 'bird to look good).

1. What do I use on my tankpads - is Armorall okay?

2. What do I use to make the seat shine?

3. What is the best product to make the non - chrome shine (engine covers and etc)?

Thanks,

J

J....

What show is it?

For alloy bits, any aluminium polish should suffice.. e.g. Mothers. You can get it and other brands from Pep Boys and Autozone

A lot of folks seem to have a thing against Amorall, I don't and use I it on rubber and plastic components to give them a shine. You can use it on the seat but it can make it a little slippery, at least at first.

S100 is a good overall bike cleaner and they also do a tube of restorer for bring back the shine on tarnished bits.

Thanks. I'm going to the Vietnam Vets rally this weekend. I'm not a Vietnam Vet, but I am a vet, so I'm prospecting as a "Legacy Vet".

It gets me out there with more riders, and moto. insurance is the lifeblood of my business, so that is always a good thing.

I wouldn't use Armor All period! One of the ways in which Armor All achieves its shine is by frawing out the "natural" oils in the rubber, vinyl, etc. over time this will dry out the material & lead to premature fading and craking. I would stick to one of the rebber treatments from Mequiar's or Mothers. Just my $.02

I have a bottle of BMW Cockpit spray that I use on rubber materials. It makes for a classy, clean look - without that cheesy armorall glow.
