tim,

If I had the job to do again, I think I'd modify a t'bird stand by extending the legs. Here's the link to the job I actually did:

The abbastand is a bit OTT for simple maintenance, I bought one then sold it on ebay, I've just bought a paddock stand for my 04 TBS it works ok. Got the stand for £15 at Rufforth autojumble, its a Micron one, was a bargain...
You could try mine before you buy I live in Colne but work Accy way.

lancashirelad, thanks for the offer , does the micron have any model name/numbers ? is it complete or do you need bobbins etc ? is it a two man job (what stops the bike rolling forward as you lift the rear end at an angle whilst on the side stand ) never used one before. thanks.

No model numbers or anything, mine has 4 wheels which is more sturdy, uses cups so you don't need bobbins, I found it a lot easier than the abbastand, the abba takes to long to use for quick chain lube etc.
Theres a good article about stands in RIDE this month.
First time is a bit unnerving, I just put bike on the side stand, adjust the cups & it lifts easy, no attempt to role forwards.
Look at www.sportsbikeshop.co.uk theres a pic of a Micron Rear Super Stand, similar to mine, except its only got 2 wheels not 4 like mine.
