Of the taigene variety.

ouch. Thats not good at all. How many miles(Km) on the Bird? When mine broke the teeth were fine the brushes were bad. I ended up replacing it with a Denso @ 13,000 miles. So far no problems. Hopefully you'll find a spare that won't cost your first born.

I've got NEW Denso starters available for the 900/1200 engines for $285 US (Shipping & Handling extra.)

The dealer price here is $585 US and non-US prices seem to be proportional, so that's a pretty good deal even if the shipping is expensive.

Check your dealer price and see if this is a good value for you.

E-mail me if you're interested and we'll work out the details.

Of the taigene...
Yep! The cheap Taiwanese bearings go first and the rest follows.

I ended up getting a starter here in Brisbane from a low klm engine. Its a nippondenso, works better than the taigene ever did. It spins the engine over faster, same number of teeth.
Thanks for the trouble you went to JimmyJ. It wasnt meant to be.
