My beloved 2000 Legend (The Mistress) is dead. A teenage driver decided to make an illegal left turn and hit me. I was only in 2nd gear and not going more than 20mph given that I desparately attempting to stop and manuever around her. Didn't make it. Now my Triumph mechanic tells me the bike is totalled as the shifter rod is busted and forks would need replacing No insurance company is going to pay for the repairs given the blue book value of the bike. She should have her licensed revoked! Now, I wait and see what kind of settlement I can get and look for a new Triumph. But, she was the one I loved!!! This sucks!!!! Thanks for listening. Anyone need parts? I imagine I'll be selling it off in parts.
Eric

Man, that is about 12 different kinds of suck. Glad to hear you are alright though. Yanno, you might just be able to find another one somewhere. Too bad you live on the left coast, there is a guy out here trying to sell one for around 3 grand. Not the cool green color like ours, but hey.

Sorry to hear about your accident but be grateful you can ***** about it without many aches and pains....or even worse! Spring is coming up so I am sure there will be many opportunities to replace your classic triple with another....good luck to you!

Bummer! Glad to hear you are OK, even though your Legend didn't make it.

I might have a line on a Green Legend when you get ready to get another one (in the Sacto area) ... drop me a PM.

Soryr to hear of your accident. It does sound eminently repiarable if you are handy and can do the work yourself.

If it were me I would get a settlement from the insurance co that includes keeping the bike, then replace the shifter drum and do a fork / brakes upgrade. I bet you could end up pocketing some cash and having an upgraded bike to boot (albeit with a rebuilt title)! :-D

Eric, I'm so sorry to hear about your Legend. I know I'd be heartbroken if anything happened to mine. The most important thing is that you're not hurt.

And yes, the green ones are the best.

Sorry to hear about the accident, but the bike is repairable.

www.framestraightsystem.com can sort out the front end for about the Triumph dealer price on one fork tube.

They did the fork tubes and clamps for Mutato after I crashed.

The shift lever parts aren't that expensive, but the labor is a bi*ch.

If you can do the front end yourself then the insurance might cover the shifter repair.

you should get together with bigeffinpimp , between the two of you one of you'd wind up with a whole bike . even though both are fixable , but if one of you is definately gonna bail .

Your Ok and that is most important. I would take a serious look at the bike before I gave up on her. Check the classifieds here, I beleive it is jredd that is parting out a front end damaged tbird. He has a complete running motor that he would like to sell as a unit, also has many other parts. His bike is not comming back due to many reasons to include a hacked up electrical system from prior owner. I would look his post up in the classifieds because he has already sold some bits on ebay. I know, I bought some. Best of luck, and get back on that horse.
