Last Memorial Day weekend, I bought a ner America all decked out with as much chrome as possible, rack, bar, windshield and floorboards. It is the nicest motorcycle I have ever owned and with all of the extras, The most expensive.
The question has been, what to do with the '96 T-Bird. I let my oldest kid use it some over the summer, as I have been riding the BA a lot,6500 miles at this writing. Last week I got the T-Bird back from Chane. It is due for it's 12000 mile check up and needs new tires. I took a short ride on it and that is when I decided that the T-Bird stays. I put it into the shop on Saturday and told the Mechanic not to spare any $ in getting the old bird back into top snuff shape! This motorcycle is going to be an airloom the three sons are gonna fight over!

I just wanted to share this with you all.

Seems like a wise decision. For what $$ you would get for the bike you would end up regretting it if you had sold it.

Typical that Jnr. brought it back when it needed money spent on it. :-D

Exactly my sentiments. I will have a Daytona 955i by next spring but there is no way I would ever part with my T-Bird.

A T-Bird is not just for Christmas, it is for life !!!

I would have regretted it! The fact that the T-Bird has once again been discontinued and that it is unlikly that it will be resurected again in it's present form, makes it a vehicle worthy to be a family airloom. Aside from this, That triple is one marvelous engine and the bike is one sweet riding machine. How could I contribute to the hinkley classics thread if I didn't own one?

I have a '95 T'bird which I have not used since 2002.I am currently riding a Daytona Centennial but could never part with my T'bird.I spent over #500 on a major service and new chain & sprockets then put it away in the garage.may bring it out next year.
