Wondering if anyone could give me some guidance on a good shop manual for the T-bird. Used...new...I dont care just need a little guidance for some routine servicing I have planned in a couple weeks. I saw an actual Triumph book for sale for about 60 American. That is more then I am willing to spend though.

Thanks in advance,
Rod M.

Haynes publishes one that is pretty good and widely available (Google Haynes Triumph). Good pictures and text. There are a few misprints though, like the 48 NewtonMeters for the oil drain plug. All in all it is a good source for the price, around $25.00.

What's the correct torque for the drain plug?

If it is an M14 (17mm hex- which I think is standard on TBS's) then the correct torque is 28Nm.

Haynes Manual - Triumph Triples & Fours

I just received mine and it's hardcover. I bought the Triumph shop manual too, and find they complement each other well. At least with both, you get mostly the whole picture. Wife, of course, doesn't understand why I neeeeed all this "stuff". But I'm among friends here, right?

WOW!! 26$ CDN for a Haynes??? GOnna hafta order one I guess. I got the actual Triumph T300 manual from the dealer and it was...EXPENSIVE!!!!

BTW, my wife can't understand why I need more than one motorcycle, never mind the books. Don't worry, you are indeed among "good company."

I find the Haynes manual a little messy in part for languaje in part for the fact that several models are pictured and all mixed up.

My wife sometimes pretends to understand my feelings about the motorbike but I´m not sure she really does.

Thanks all for the advice. I went on Amazon and got a Haynes manual for about $25 US. Book is exactly what I was hoping for. My girlfriend just moved in with me so I am sure she will develop an opinion real soon.
