In trying to find accessories for my 96 Adventurer I keep running into T Bird accessories that I am not sure will fit or not. So what is actually the same? Especially items like the Seat and Chain (thinking about getting an aftermarket seat with backrest and maybe the T bird belt drive system). Seems like everyone knows what a T bird is but when I say I have an Adventurer they tilt their head and give me a funny look like the RCA dog.

Also are all of you running the original rims or has anyone changed the rims to go with tubeless tires. I am a newbie and am hearing that tubeless tires are much safer. Any feedback?

There is also a company out here in Garden Grove, Ca that will treat your rims so that you can run tubeless tires on your spoked rims (possibly similar to what BMW did with their R1200C?) Anyone heard anything good or bad on that?

Thanks for the help. Seems there is so much to learn about bikes.

PS any news on Triumph bringing back updated models that they have discontinued? I think a New updated Trophy or T Bird could do really well. This year Triumph sold over 10,000 bikes in the US. Time to expand their offerings

Ok I read through that thread and got some good info. That helped, guess I am not the only one asking these kind of questions. Thank you for the link, I had never even heard of anyone trying to seal rims before so that was news to me. Anyway I guess the main concern for me is wondering if I can get some T Bird aftermarket accessories (95-99) that will fit my Adventurer. So many companies immediately say "no" and I am not sure if they actually know or are just guessing because they do not know what an Adventurer is? I tell them it is a T Bird with more chrome but I am not sure that is completely accurate. Appreciate everyone's help. It is tough trying to learn all this sometimes.

Slip on muffflers and header pipes should work.

The big differences are from thr front of the seat back.

Everything in front of that is the same as a TBird.

The windscreens are the same for TBird, Legend and Adventurer, TBS is different.

I don't know about the luggage racks/Sissy bars. Some report they interchange some say no.

The drive train is all the same as the TBird except for the Chrome that you have noted.

What he said, -- I own the 01 Adventurer and went through all the same questions. The pipes- same, levers, etc... The seat really is the big deal. It is the only one setup with the backrest mounts down on the fender support rails. From what I found, that remained consistent through all the years. The seat attaches with bolts rather than a release lever on the later models. There is currently several things for that bike in the classifieds, slash cut silencers, and I'm trying to sell a backrest. Just picked up the tank bag setup from there, which is also universal to these bikes.

I see several post and pictures of folks who have outfitted there bike with rims from another machine, so tha can be done.

Like above, it's also my understanding that the drive lines are the same. There are a few riders out there now running a belt drive system, I haven't seen any real bad press about them.
