Hi all ,
I haven't yet got a manual for my 2000 Legend and I need to change the front
pads pronto, could some kind soul please give me a quick run down of the
procedure, do I remove caliper from holder or complete assembly from fork leg
etc. are the spring clips re useable or should I buy new ones.
I've done the job many times on other bikes but it's nice to be forewarned.
Thank you in advance,
Jamie.

Piece of cake, really...

just unscrew the bolt hidden behind the black protection cap on the caliper. This bolt goes through holes in the pads. Take it out and just pull out the pads. You'll be able to slide the new pads in without removing anything else.

I did this myself, and the whole operation took maybe 10 minutes.

PS: A dap of copper grease here and there wouldn't hurt.

T'weed,
thanks for the reply, I did the job this afternoon before
seeing your message, I removed the two bolts holding the
caliper carrier to the leg, when I saw the setup I thought I might
have been able to do it your way, still dead easy though and gave me
the chance to have a clean up and a look at the pistons/ boots.
I used EBC HH pads and they work at least as well as the Triumph ones
and were half the price.
Thanks again for taking the time to reply,
ride safe,
J.

Just glad to help, Panster.
Seems like it's a dead easy procedure any which way you do it. Now, if it was just as easy changing break pads on my Saab 99.....
