Is it OK to use a motorcycle jack like the craftsman one that sears sells to jack up a legend to work on it? Not having a centrestand is a pain when trying to lube chain etc., I want to be able to jack it up, not sure where usable lift points are underneath? :???:

I have one and I jack my Adventurer all the time.
There are better jacks out there. However, it will work fine.

I love mine! However some who bought the cheaper one had some complaints. I couldn't imagine what they were complaining about till I checked the website- there are 2 flavors. Mine was like 149 on sale- not the 79 dollar one!! The ATV adapters are included...

I have the cheaper Sears unit and love it. Best thing I have bought for my bike. My only complaint is that it is HEAVY. The more expensive unit is surely lighter.

I use one of the 79 dollar Craftsman lifts and love it, I use it all the time. I have a bonnie though, but it works great.

It is a heavy sumbietch though.

on the Classic Triples the pipes touch the jack before the sump does.
A piece of 2x8 gives enough clearance so that the pipes don't touch the jack.

Someone also noted that some models need a little hole in the 2x8 to clear the oil drain plug.

Thanks Denny! I forgot to mention the wood spacer you will need. The one I used was only about an inch thick and it worked fine. I don't have to worry about it now with my 3 into one exhaust.

Hey sweatmchinne, nice bike. Tell me about the homemade vacuum gauges I see behind the Bonnie.

I use the newer aluminum model. It will lift my 01 Tbird without wood and without touching the pipes, solidly on the sump.

Cheers.

Dang it... I cannot remember if I actually did have to use the wood spacer for my '01 Thunderbird. I know I used one the first few times I jacked it up, but now think I discovered it wasn't necessary with my bike. My memory is getting worse and worse.... Sorry for any misinformation.
