Can anyone recommend some glasses for me while riding. I have a full-face helmet, but I like to ride with the visor up. However, too much wind/dust/insects get around the regular sunglasses I wear.
Does anyone know of a good (hopefully not too expensive) eyeglass that has padding around the frame they could recommend? I am looking for clear and tinted.
Thanks,
Ryan

You should be able to find Oakley wrap arounds on eBay, or try your local Harley dealer as I often see goggle style sunglasses with quick change lenses at cruiser joints.

They weren't cheap, but I love my Wiley-X glasses. (the non-prescription ones are around $80)
Since mine were prescription, I could pay for them out of my medical flex plan at work. Also, they're ANSI certified shatterproof polycarbonate, so if your job requires safety glasses or goggles, you might be able to get your employer to pay for them.
I got mine with transition lenses. They get clear at night. The bad part is... on overcast days, the women can tell I'm ogling them (***** it!).

Lowe's has a great selection of safety glasses that look cool. When I wear my half helmet that's what I wear.

Kem, I looked a Lowes, but our local store does not have any with the foam padding around the lenses.
Bad, I looked at the Wiley X website. Do they do a good job of keeping stuff (wind/dust) out of your eyes?
I am having problems (which, lately, have been severe) with my contacts/sensitive eyes when I ride.

I had the same issues with contacts, watering & streaks of salt on the sides of my face. I have the JP-2 model. With the gasket and headband installed, they are perfect and I can't imagine anything working better (I have prescription ones, so that is without contacts).
The only issue I have with them is when it rains. The cloth gaskets soak up the rain, then keep the lenses fogged up on the inside. I use anti-fog treatment on them and it doesn't seem to make a difference. This probably won't be an issue if you'll be wearing them behind a face shield.
Another thing that might be an issue is the thickness of them if worn under a helmet. I have a hard time squeezing anything but thin metal arms into mine.

You're right they don't have pads. If you're having problems with your contacts you'll probably need them. I'll keep looking.

My wife uses her Specialized Cycling Glasses that have NXT lenses and they get lighter and darker real fast. The sides of the lenses are designed to vent keeping dust out and don't fog up. She says that they have been the first glasses she has used that allow her to see in the tunnels and still protect from the bright sun. Not cheap at 150.00 a pair. :hammer:

No padding on these, but Worksafe has a model called Cheeta. Clear, yellow and dark lenses. These are protective glasses meant for work situations, and they cost around $10 each.
