allright......now im concerened.....i just got done replacing my headlight mounts...(yes,stupid does hurt).. and i noticed the id sticker on the front of my bike frame...it has a vin # wich is also ingraved in the frame right next to it....however, the number on my engine does not match....***...my 96 t-bird has only 6k miles..and supposebly i am the 3rd owner..first 2 being father & son..who bought new...is there a way to track #s.?.the bike is a bute..and is too much fun..the title says nothing about being a "salvage"...is this common? (that was probobly a stupid question )...just a little curious......i have owned for 2 years now..im in shock......tom.

Matching numbers is a thing of the past, they generally don't match any more. Nothing to worry about..

My Zephyr is a Kawasaki, air cooled inline 4 retro. Not to be confused with a Ford Zephyr- now that is really old.

Actually over on this side of th3 pond the Zypher was a Mercury. The Ford was a Fairmont. My folks had a Fairmont wagon... '78 or so if I remember...Boy I AM getting old...

The real Zephyr was a Lincoln made in the late 30's.
So let's not talk about OLD!
